If you’re thinking of selling your home, it can feel a bit daunting, especially in the current market. Take a look at our two-part guide to the selling process, and some common questions you might be asking yourself!
How much money will I need?
The first thing to do, if you’re thinking of selling your home and buying a new property, is to talk to your bank or mortgage lender. Here you can find out where you stand on your current mortgage, and how much you will be able to borrow for your next property.
Who will sell my home?
Now you can choose who will sell your home, and they can give you an estimate on how much your current property will sell for. It doesn’t have to be your local estate agent, although we believe we do offer the best service, as you can sell yourself or via an online estate agent.
How much is my house worth?
Your estate agent will give you a guide to the price you can put your house on the market for, but obviously it is your decision. You can also do some quick fixes to give your home a better chance of selling quickly and for more money, like decluttering.
Who I else do I need to contact?
You will need to hire a solicitor or conveyancer in order to sell your home. Decide who you want to use before you sell, them instruct them after you have an agreed an offer in order to get the legal work rolling.
